A Barn With a Story

East Tennessee, 1954 to today

1954

Built in 1954 on land owned by Dolly Parton's parents, the barn's post-and-beam frame and weathered gray boards belonged to the Sevier County landscape long before the first wedding arrived. The Parton family held the land into the 1980s. Afterward, the property sat quiet for years in its wooded cove, just beyond the bustle of nearby Pigeon Forge.

The History

2007

When the property changed hands in 2007, the plan was to build cabins. Friends and neighbors who knew the barn's history asked the new owners to preserve the barn instead. New footings, structural beams, insulation, flooring and modern amenities made it ready for year-round celebrations. Reclaimed wood from other historic barns was used throughout.

The Restoration

2026

In the summer of 2026, the current owners took over the barn's legacy: the same cove, the same beams, and the same promise that you get to be a guest at your own wedding. First on the list is a refresh of both dressing suites, ready for December 2026, with more to come.

A New Chapter

Today

Still weathered, now ready for a wedding. Inside: climate control, dressing rooms, restrooms, sound, vaulted ceilings, chandeliers and room for up to 120 guests. Outside, the wooded cove remains the frame, from the ceremony beneath the trees through the barn and into the courtyard as the string lights come on.
